Obituary
Francis "LeRoy" Davis, 74, of DeSoto, passed away on November 20, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born September 23, 1935 in Blackwell, Missouri; he was the son of the late James L. and Ethel (Coleman) Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Leola (Valle) Davis.

Mr. Davis is also survived by four daughters: Donna (Jim) Smith, Festus, Angie (Wes) James, Fenton, Sandy (Kevin) Thornton, Festus, and Pam (Gary) Ledbetter, Festus; two brothers: Pat (Marylee) Davis, DeSoto, and Jim (Silvia) Davis, DeSoto; and four sisters: Jeanette (Glen) Guenther, Richwoods, Joan (Danny) Brown, Bonne Terre, Becky Pruitte, Blackwell, and Cheryl (Ed) Belt, Old Mines; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, Nicole, Sydney, Nick, John and Leighan; three great-grandchildren: Darrius, Haley and Lucas.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Donald "D.J." Davis; two brothers: Sam Davis and Dennis Davis; and one sister, Beverly Kitchell.

Mr. Davis was a truck driver for T.C.T. Corporation. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #689 of DeSoto, DeSoto Amvets Post #48, ( a lifetime member), DeSoto V.F.W. Post #1831. Also a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Deacon Ed Boyer will be officiating the service.
